Relief Prints

Relief Printing is the cutting or carving into a printing plate in order to leave a raised design. Ink is applied to the raised areas and pressure is then applied to transfer the image to paper. Reduction Printing takes the process one step further, As each new colour is added, more of the design is removed until the plate is virtually destroyed! Print run numbers are therefore limited (10 prints in changes), unique and would be impossible to reproduce.
Engraved Prints is the art of printing from hand etched copper or aluminium plates with the aid of a mechanical press.
